Type of wood:

Thermowood: (lifespan 15-25 years / strength class 2 / easy to maintain)

Thermowood is heat-treated wood and is darker than natural wood. It is also more resistant to weather conditions and rot. Thermowood is created in a multi-stage process without the use of chemicals at high temperatures. Thermowood is later much lighter than before, and thanks to thermal modification, the resin content is reduced by up to 90%. As a result, the wood no longer releases any juices, even at high temperatures. The insulating properties of the wood improve, it becomes more durable and less susceptible to deformation under the influence of moisture, which makes it an ideal wood for outdoor use. Not all elements can be heat treated. This process mainly involves thick structural boards, which constitute walls, ceiling or floor. Elements such as benches, floor grates, windows, doors, door handles and panelling are not taken into account.

DESIGN

The cube-like design fits well even in modern gardens. This new design provides a better sauna experience as it has more space in the back than a standard barrel. The higher 2-tier benches provide a higher seating point, making the heat more concentrated for the sauna user.

COMPACT AND EASY

The Icon 220 is made to fit even in a small garden and does not require expensive earthworks. This model can be easily assembled by any family and although it is a compact model, it still accommodates 4 people to enjoy the sauna at the same time.

FLEXIBILITY AND SAFETY

Thanks to the great cube shape of the Icon sauna, it can be used with both electric and wood-burning heaters, and the heaters can always be placed at the end of the sauna, meaning that the user can always exit safely on the other side without any risk.

THERMAL WOOD PROPERTIES AND PRODUCTION

During thermal treatment, the wood is heated to temperatures between 180 and 230° Celsius without oxygen. The wood's ability to absorb water is thus significantly reduced, and wood-degrading fungi and bacteria lose their food source. This increases the durability of the wood. All wooden parts of the barrel sauna (except door frames, window frames, roof panels and foundation beams) are made of Nordic thermal wood.
